The Clean Air Recovery Act
"I can't breathe!" George Floyd repeated around the world.
"I can't breathe that seafood stench" said the folks who
burned and razed the Chinese fishing village in Monterey.
I can't breathe in the gas chambers of Auschwitz during WW2.
I can't breathe under the collapsed tunnel crossing the U.S./Mexican border.
I can't breathe the toxic smoke wafting into the beaches during wildfire
or from the witches tied to the stake of burning flames.
Who could breathe that Spanish Flu, let alone the President's Kung-Flu?
I can't breathe that dust floating over oceans from the Saharan Desert.
You're breathing out to speak.
I'm taking a deep breath to listen.
The words that we exhale at each other will exchange
and we will stop pacing all over the earth to rest
and breathe the same air together
to act in recovery and peace.
