Currently accepting art, poetry and creative writing submissions for Stage II of Tea Roots' exhibition project exploring our relationship with water.

Submission Deadline: July 30, 2016

Water has the power to both give life and swiftfully destroy. But today our own misuse of it may be our greatest peril. The current water crisis can be likened to the mythology of the sirens, beautiful creatures who lured sailors to their demise by their mesmerizing song. Today's proponents of water privatization are being lured by the sweet sound of money and power. Only later will they find it will leave us all shipwrecked.

We are in dire need of a siren call to cut through this shortsighted business-as-usual, alarming us to emergency. This exhibition will explore water as a basic human right. What role does this resource play in society and what will happen if we continue to exploit it? How can we prevent further disaster, cultivate a sustainable relationship with our planet’s waters, and ensure there will be enough for all?
